Using a series of invisible, removable appliances called aligners (made from thermoplastic material and similar in appearance to tooth whitening trays), the Invisalign® system allows us to straighten your teeth without anyone noticing you’re wearing a dental appliance. The Invisalign system is custom-made for your teeth to move them little by little. The imperceptible aligners are worn 24 hours per day, although they should be removed for eating and oral hygiene. The tooth movement is extremely gentle—each set of aligners is worn for two weeks, after which the next set in the series is inserted—so discomfort is minimal. While not everyone is an ideal candidate for the treatment, Invisalign® is an excellent choice for many orthodontic patients.
